Our first show was taped last night at the ACME Theater and we couldn’t be more pleased. Our guests were hilarious and the show ran as smoothly as one could hope thanks to the smooth stylings of host Robbie Peron!

Writer extraordinaire Joshua Dysart (Swamp Thing, BPRD 1946) held his own against the stand-up comics, often throwing a great tagline into the mix at just the right moment, throwing the audience into further fits of laughter. And you should have seen his face when we “ambushed” him by bringing up the subject of his Avril Lavigne comic. Priceless!

Boris Hamilton got shitfaced on the beer we provided, but got funnier and funnier as he went. What a great endorsement for alcohol! Is it wrong for me to say that sometimes it’s okay to drink until you pee your pants, provided you’re as charming and hilarious as he was? (Don’t read that the wrong way; he didn’t pee his pants onstage. He waited until he got back to the green room, like a true gentleman.)

Adam Richmond was like a lit firecracker up there, and he wasn’t afraid of pushing a few buttons in order to keep the conversations alive and flowing. His manic, high-energy approach greatly counterbalanced the more mellow guests and created a palpable friction.

The biggest surprise of the evening, however, was the lovely Kathryn Lyn, the talented actress and comedian whom we’d originally hired to conduct interviews with the fans. She provided some much-needed feminine energy and perspective to the proceedings. Being easy on the eyes doesn’t hurt, either! We geeks love a smart, funny, comic book loving female!

From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank everyone who showed up to give us their love, support and suggestions, and to our amazing guests for making the evening a truly memorable one. If this first show was any indication, then we have a truly special thing in our hands, and we look forward to providing you with quality live entertainment and podcasts for years to come.

Onward and upward!
